Summary

Most people go straight to Ella Town – a bit of a chaotic, soulless place.  Don’t stay there.  Go there to eat and drink.  Stay a little further out – it makes for a much more authentic ‘Ella’ experience!  We had a huge, bright, breezy room, with a massive balcony commanding incredible views of the mountains and valleys. Sitting there with a cup of tea is about as close to a moment of pure peace and happiness as you could get.

The fact that Ella Nature View is about 5-10 minutes out of town makes it all the more appealing. The town has a glut of guesthouses, and is a bit dirty, noisy, and, as previously mentioned, chaotic.
Walking down the steep narrow road from the guesthouse you come to the train track, and you can walk up and down it, coming off at various places to follow tracks which make for excellent hikes. You can walk to town in about 20 minutes.

Breakfast was plentiful, breads, omelette, fruit – simple and delicious, and with that view and the fresh mountain air…..we wished we could bottle that fresh and take it with us and sniff it when the heat and humidity becomes too much!

So, a simple, cheap, clean (OK a few ants in the bathroom but it’s not the end of the world!) wonderful little place.

OUR 🔥TIPS😘:
💫 Perhaps the room we stayed in, the one next to the open-air dining area, provides the best, unblocked views.
💫 Don’t leave anything on the balcony – monkeys are on the prowl! 
💫 Go down to the train tracks and walk along them towards Ella Rock.  Don’t worry – the locals all do the same.  You’l find some enterprising locals have even set up some refreshment kiosks along the way!
